Ingredients for preparing healthy Carrot Halwa

Carrot – 250 Gms

Milk – 4 Cups

Sugar – 2 Cups

Elachi – 4 Nos

Cashews- 5 Nos

Badam – 5 Nos

Ghee – 1 Table spoon

Preparation Method for Healthy Carrot Halwa

Take the carrots and remove the skin. Later grate it well and boil in a pressure cooker by pouring four glasses of water. Let it boil for four minutes. After four minutes put off the flame and wait for the pressure to go down. Remove the lid and check whether the carrot has boiled well. Take four cups of milk and boil it well.

In the same pressure cooker pour the boiled milk and mix well. Add two cups of sugar and mix the content well in low flame. Take 4 elachi and powder it well. Add the powder to the content and mix well.

In a frying pan add one table spoon of ghee and add the cashews and badam. Fry it well. After two minutes remove it from the flame and put it in the carrot mixture and mix well. After two minutes put off the flame. Now the delicious and healthy carrot halwa is ready to be served. As opposed to other halwas this carrot halwa contains less fat, since we are using only one table spoon of ghee.

Ingredients for preparing Cucumber Yoghurt Raita

Cucumber – 1 (Big)

Curd – 2 Cups

Cumin Powder – 1Table spoon

Onion – 1 (Medium)

Tomato – 1 (Medium)

Pepper Powder – 1 Table spoon

Salt – As per requirement

Lemon Juice – ¼ Table spoon

Coriander leaves - Little

Preparation Method for Cucumber Yoghurt Raita

Remove the skin of the cucumber and cut them in to thin slices. Later cut them into square cubes. Take two cups of curd and beat it mildly. Add salt to the curd. Add the finely chopped onions to the curd. Add the finely chopped tomatoes to the curd and mix well. Add the cumin powder and pepper powder and mix well.

Add the cucumber to the curd and mix the content well. Before adding the cucumbers to the curd remove the excess water in the cucumber. Add the lemon juice to the content and mix well. Finally add the chopped coriander leaves to the content and garnish it well. The cucumber yoghurt raita is ready to be served.

This dish would taste great with chapattis, rotis and veg biriyani. This would be a different kind of raita and children would like to eat it. Both cucumber and curd are cooling agents they help in reducing the heat in the body.

Tomato – Carrot Juice

Ingredients for preparing tomato carrot juice

Tomato – 1 No

Carrot – 2 Nos

Orange – 1 No

Lemon Juice – 2 Table spoon

Honey – ½ Cup

Salt – a pinch

Crushed Ice – 1 Cup

Water – ½ Cup

 

Preparation Method for Tomato – Carrot Juice

Take the tomato and remove its skin and cut it into small pieces. Remove the skin of the carrot and cut it in to small pieces. Peel the orange. Take a mixer and blend all the above three together to make a juice. Add half cup of water to the mixer and grind well.

Take a bowl and pour the content in it. Add two table spoon of lemon juice to the content and mix well. Add half cup of honey to the mixture and mix well. Add a pinch of salt to the content. Add one cup of crushed ice to the juice and serve it chill.

This tomato carrot juice is a very healthy juice since it contains the goodness of tomato, carrot and orange. In a single juice one will be able to get the benefits of three items. This juice will not only be a thirst quencher but it will add goodness to the health. Children are sure to like this juice.
