Vegetable Vermicelli Upma

If you want have a wonderful tiffin in your list then you can prepare this bambino upma which is spicy and delicious to east. It can be prepared very easily and quickly. It is even healthy because you can use the vegetables for making it a nutritious food. This vermicelli is available in the markets or in your near by stores. They are two different kinds of bambino available: Roasted vermicelli and non roasted vermicelli. Roasted vermicelli brings more taste to your dish. Even you can roast this vermicelli at home. Just take a pan and put this vermicelli in it and roast it with out pouring any water into it. This dish is also called as sevia upma, sev upma, sevalu upma, shavige upma.
Ingredients:

  • 2 glass of Vermicelli (or) Bambino
  • 4 glass of water
  • 1/2 tbs mustard seeds,
  • 1/2 tbs urad dal,
  • Vegetables (optional) like carrot, beans, tomatoes.
  • 1 tps ground nuts,
  • 3 chilly,
  • 2 tbs Cashew nuts
  • 1 tbs Channa dal,
  • Ginger garlic paste,
  • curry leaves.
  • Salt to taste,
  • oil needed

Preparation methods of Vermicelli upma:
Take a non-stick pan, this will help you in preventing this bambino from sticking. Pour 3 tbs of oil into the pan, now you can add mustard seeds, urad dal, channa dal, curry leaves, chilly pices, groundnuts and let them fry. Now add the vegetables which are chopped in fine pieces and let them cook. Now you can add 4 glasses of water into it. Always remember that you must add double quantity of water for the bambino that you prepare. Let the water come to a boil now you can add ginger garlic paste and salt as per taste. Just mix the bambino into it and close it with a lid. Let the water evaporate completely. Now you can garnish it with cashew nut and serve it hot. It will be nice with coconut chutney or pickle. But children will always prefer this bambino upma (or) vermicelli upma with sugar.
